Setting up Dial-Up Networking to access ASU Dialin From Windows 95/98/ME

  1. Double-click the My Computer icon.
  2. Double-click on the Dial-Up Networking folder.
  3. Double-click on the Make New Connection icon.
  4. Name the connection ASU Dialin.
  5. Click Next

6.  Enter 870 as the area code and the desired phone number.

7.  Phone # List.

8.  Click Next.

9.  A window should open saying you have successfully created a connection called ASU Dialin.  Click Finish.

10.  Right-click on the ASU Dialin icon.

11.  Click on Create Shortcut.

12.  Select  yes.

 

 

 

13.  You are ready to connect! 

14.  Double-click on the ASU Dialin icon.  You will be prompted for your ASU username and password.  Keep in mind that the password is case sensitive

15.  Click connect.

16.  For long distance calls, dial 18709108030.

17.  Click OK.  (This will only need to be done once.)

 
18.  Once connected you will be prompted with “Connected to ASU” and should be able to browse the internet and check your mail.  You are limited to 30 minutes.

Students will need to place the domain name "students" in front of their Digital ID/UserName.  For example, students\john.doe  Faculty/Staff will need to place the domain name "astate" in front of their Digital ID/UserName.  For example, astate\john.doe

Web Mail
You can easily check your e-mail from a web browser. Start your Internet Browser . In the address or location field type the following: http://accesspoint.astate.edu for faculty, staff, and students.
Login and inside your portal there will be a link for email on the left hand side.
