Setting up Dial-Up Networking to access ASU Dial-In from Windows 2000
1. Click on the Start button, then Settings, then click on Control Panel. The Control Panel will appear.
2. Double-click the Network and Dial-up Connections icon.
3. Double-click the Make New Connection icon. This will start the Network Connection Wizard.
4. Click Next to continue.

5. The Network Connection Wizard windows will appear. Make sure the Dial-up to private network option is selected then click Next. The Phone Number to Dial page will appear.
6. Enter the phone number for the ASU Dial-In as follows:
- For Faculty, Staff, and Students 9108030
*** If it is necessary to use an area code, check Use dialing rules and then enter the area code. (Long Distance charges may apply)

7. Click Next to continue.
8. The Connection Availability window will appear. Click on the For all users option and then click Next.

9. The Completing the Network Connection Wizard page will open.
Type in ASU Dial-In as the name for your connection. Click on Add a shortcut
to my desktop. Then click Finish.
10. Click on the newly created ASU Dial-In icon and enter your User name and
Password. Note:
Students will need to place the
domain name "students" in front of their Digital ID/UserName.
For example, students\john.doe
Faculty/Staff will need to place the domain name "astate" in front of their
Digital ID/UserName.
For example, astate\\john.doe
Click the Dial button.
11. To close a dial-up connection, double-click on the Dial-Up Networking icon in the system tray (located on the taskbar in the lower right hand corner of the screen next to the clock) and then click on Disconnect. You can also double-click the ASU Dial-In shortcut icon on your desktop and click on disconnect.
