Setting up Dial-Up Networking to access ASU Dial-In

from Apple OS X

 

 

  1. Go to System Preferences and choose Network

 

  1. In the Show box, select Internal Modem

 

 

 

  1. Under the TCP/IP tab, make sure that the Configure: box  is set to Using PPP

 

 

 

  1. Click the PPP tab. In the box named Account Name:  Enter your username. In the box named Password: Type your password.   Note:  Students will need to place the domain name "students" in front of their Digital ID/UserName.  For example, students\john.doe  Faculty/Staff will need to place the domain name "astate" in front of their Digital ID/UserName.  For example, astate\john.doe

 

  1. Enter the phone number for the ASU Dial-In as follows:

                     - For Students, Faculty, and Staff  9108030

 

 

  1. Click on the Modem tab.  Make sure that the Show modem status in menu bar box is checked.  Click Apply Now and exit.

 

 

  1. On the menu bar, click on the telephone icon and select Connect.

 

 

 

  1. Once you are connected, you should see the timer on the menu bar.


 

  1. To close your dial-in connection, click on Disconnect.
